Fierce winds began to blow from all directions, spreading darkness occasioned by dust and hail storms; stones came in volleys from every corner, as if thrown by machine guns.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
A terrible wind began to blow, producing darkness because of the dust. Pellets fired from guns fell in all directions. Kṣepaṇaiḥ means “by dispersion weapons.”
Winds, darkness, dust, hailstones, machine-gun stones — the world becomes a war zone when demon and Lord clash. Spiritual combats spill into the environment. Don't be surprised when inner battles produce outer storms.
Reflection Questions
  • What outer turbulence in my life might be the visible side of inner combat?
  • How can I take shelter rather than be swept by the storm?
