After returning from the heavenly kingdom, the mighty demon, who was like an elephant in wrath, for the sake of sport dived into the deep ocean, which was roaring terribly.

Gauḍīya
Translation
Returning from heaven, the mighty demon, desiring to sport, like a mad elephant, dove into the deep ocean, which made a terribḷe sound.
Not seeing any equal opponent in the ten directions, burning with the heat of his great strength, he dove into the ocean with the hope that maybe someone there would be to his equal and he could fight
Personal Guidance
Hiraṇyākṣa dives into the deep ocean for sport — his wrath needs an arena. Unchecked power seeks somewhere to be discharged. The sea itself is endangered when there's nowhere else for the rage to go.
Reflection Questions
- Where does my own unprocessed wrath go diving for an outlet?
- What's a more dharmic 'arena' for energy that otherwise becomes destructive sport?
