Translation
Powerful Rudra, the eldest of the devatās, cried out, “O guru of the universe! Of controller! Please give me names and places to reside.”
This describes the actions of Rudra.

Personal Guidance
The newly born Rudra cries out for his name and place before anything else. To know who and where we are is foundational. Without that identity, even great power is anxiety.
Reflection Questions
- Have I asked clearly enough what my name and place are in the Lord's design?
- Where am I trying to act before I know who I am supposed to be?
