Śrī Maitreya said: O learned Vidura, so far I have explained to you the glories of the form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His feature of kāla. Now you can hear from me about the creation of Brahmā, the reservoir of all Vedic knowledge.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
Maitreya said: Thus I have described to you the power called time, belonging to the Supreme Lord. Now hear how Brahmā carried out the creation. In the Twelfth Chapter, Brahmā, after creating the Kumāras, Marīci, dharma and adharma, produces a couple from his body to increase the population. Mahimā means power.
Maitreya pivots from glorifying the Lord's kāla feature to describing Brahmā's creation. Spiritual teaching unfolds in layers — first the controller, then His instruments. Patience with sequence is itself a discipline.
Reflection Questions
  • Am I willing to learn in the order a teacher unfolds, or do I always demand the next thing?
  • What 'creation by Brahmā' am I trying to grasp without first understanding the kāla behind it?
