In each and every change of Manu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appears by manifesting His internal potency in different incarnations, as Manu and others. Thus He maintains the universe by discovered power.

Translation
In all the Manvantara periods, the Lord, supporting material sattva-guṇa by his avatāras and the Manus, thus revealing his form as a human (udita-pauruṣaḥ), protects this universe.
Sva-mūrtibhiḥ means by his avatāras. Udita-pauruṣaḥ means “manifested human form.”

Personal Guidance
At every Manu's reign the Lord appears through internal potency in different forms to maintain the universe. Maintenance is not absentee — the Lord shows up afresh in every age. We can expect ongoing divine intervention, not historic-only revelation.
Reflection Questions
- Am I open to current expressions of the Lord's maintenance, or do I look only backward?
- Whose presence in my age might be such a manifestation, if I had eyes to see?
