Translation
O Vidura! The eighth creation includes cows, goats, buffalo, the black deer, pigs, wild oxen, antelopes, [Note: Vallabhācarya says the ruru is a type of deer with many horns. Gavaya is similar to a cow. ] sheep and camels. These all have cloven hooves.

Personal Guidance
Cloven-hoofed animals — cow, goat, buffalo, deer, hog, camel and others — are catalogued as one family. The Lord's creation is not a blur of 'animals' but a precise taxonomy. Each kind has its dignity in the design.
Reflection Questions
- Do I see animals as a vague category or as the Lord's specific creatures?
- Which of these animals plays a role in my life that I could honor more consciously?
