Even as Mārkaṇḍeya looked on, the rain pouring down from the clouds filled the ocean more and more until that great sea, its waters violently whipped into terrifying waves by hurricanes, covered up all the earth’s islands, mountains and continents.

Gauḍīya
Translation
While Mārkaṇḍeya watched, the rain pouring down from the clouds filled the ocean more and more until that great sea, its waters violently whipped into terrifying waves by hurricanes, covered up all the earth's islands, mountains and continents.
Personal Guidance
Even as Markandeya looks on, the rain fills the ocean until it overflows. Crisis has a slow-then-sudden quality. Bhagavatam captures it precisely so we can recognize the slow phase before the sudden one arrives.
Reflection Questions
- What slow filling am I currently underestimating in my life?
- How might I act now, before the sudden overflow?
