the spring season.
Springtime then appeared in Mārkaṇḍeya’s āśrama. Indeed, the evening sky, glowing with the light of the rising moon, became the very face of spring, and sprouts and fresh blossoms virtually covered the multitude of trees and creepers.

Translation
Springtime, whose face was the rising moon at night, endowed with a network of trees and creepers protecting the moon rays and endowed with clumps of flowers, made its appearance in the hermitage.
Spring had night as its face with a rising moon. The spring was endowed with a network of creepers and trees which protected the rays of the moon (gopa) and was endowed with lines of flower clumps.
Personal Guidance
Spring appears, intoxicating, the evening sky glowing with the rising moon. Even nature itself can be enlisted as part of the test. The world has beauty; we must learn to be moved by it without being captured.
Reflection Questions
- Where does beauty currently capture rather than uplift me?
- What helps me let beauty point toward the Beautiful One instead of away from Him?
