Translation
Nakṣatrakalpa, Śāntikalpa, Kaśyapa, Āṅgirasa and others were also among the ācāryas of the Atharva Veda. Now, O sage, listen as I name the authorities on Purāṇic literature.
Naksatrakalpa, Santikalpa, Kasyapa, Angirasa, and others are also acaryas of the Atharva. Many names, many roles — the tradition has plenty of room. We are not the only kind of devotee that has ever been needed.
Reflection Questions
  • Where do I assume only one kind of devotee is valid?
  • What variety in my own devotional community could I more wholeheartedly honor?
