Translation
Observing that people in general were diminished in their life span, strength and intelligence by the influence of time, great sages, inspired by the Lord situated within their hearts, divided the Vedas.
Personal Guidance
Observing that human lifespan, strength, and intelligence were diminishing under time, great sages divided the Vedas to make them accessible. Mercy is willing to simplify when the audience cannot bear the full version anymore.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I refusing to simplify out of attachment to thoroughness?
- Whom could my simpler version of a teaching actually help?
