Important Words
-
acyuta-sandarśa
—
by the sight of Acyuta
Compound: acyuta (the infallible, never-fallen) + sandarśa (full seeing). Acyuta is one of Viṣṇu's thousand names — He who never falls from His position. Darśana of Acyuta is what stabilises the kings.
-
parama-ānanda
—
supreme bliss
Compound: parama (highest) + ānanda (bliss). The highest ānanda is not internal absorption but bhagavad-darśana. Gauḍīyas distinguish brahmānanda from bhakty-ānanda — the latter strictly exceeds the former (CC Madhya 6.44).
-
nirvṛtāḥ
—
pacified, fulfilled
Past participle of nir-√vṛt — to come to rest, to be extinguished (in the sense of restlessness ceasing, not annihilation). The kings' world-restlessness ends at Kṛṣṇa's sight.
-
arcitāḥ
—
honoured
Past participle of √arc — to worship, to honour. The Vṛṣṇis' arcana of the kings is itself sevā — receiving guests as one would receive the Deity. Gauḍīyas practise this as atithi-sevā.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Vasudeva, Ugrasena and the other Yadus honored the various kings, who became supremely blissful and content upon seeing Lord Acyuta.

Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Vasudeva, Ugrasena and the other Yadus honored the various kings, who became supremely blissful and content upon seeing Lord Acyuta.
Jīva Gosvāmī

Commentary
Though it was suitable that they honor each other, the Yadus honored all the kings since it was proper to respect them since they were the best kings. They were completely filled with bliss which was greater than realizing Brahman because of directly seeing Kṛṣṇa, who by his nature was full of all beauty (acyutasya).

Personal Guidance
Vasudeva, Ugrasena, and the Yadus honored the various kings, who became blissful seeing Kṛṣṇa. The hosts honor the guests; the guests become blissful because of the Lord. Both halves are needed.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I hosting without honoring, or honoring without facilitating Kṛṣṇa-bliss?
- How could I do both more fully?
Analogy
Visitors who have travelled far are not refreshed by food and drink alone — one look at the host of their long longing settles every tiredness. The kings' fatigue from the road dissolves not in the lakes but in Acyuta's darśana.
