Important Words
-
gada-sātyaki-sāmba-ādyāḥ
—
headed by Gada, Sātyaki and Sāmba
Compound naming three Yadu warriors — Kṛṣṇa's brother, His cousin-disciple, and His son. Gauḍīyas note that the Lord's pastimes are never solitary; He is always surrounded by parikara, eternal associates, who share the work and the glory.
-
saubha-pateḥ
—
of the lord of Saubha
Compound: saubha (the magical aerial city) + pati (lord). Śālva is named not by himself but by his vehicle — māyā-vādins are always defined by the illusion they ride, never by any svarūpa of their own.
-
sañchinna-kandharāḥ
—
having their necks severed
Compound: sañchinna (cut through) + kandhara (neck). Bhāgavatam imagery of decisive removal — when the Lord's party engages māyā's forces, the result is not negotiation but cleanly cut necks falling into the sea of saṁsāra they came from.
Gada, Sātyaki, Sāmba and others began killing Śālva’s army, and thus all the soldiers inside the airship began falling into the ocean, their necks severed.
Gauḍīya Ācāryas

Translation
Gada, Sātyaki, Sāmba and others began killing Śālva's army, and thus all the soldiers inside the airship began falling into the ocean, their necks severed.
Commentary
Those riding in the Sauba aircraft (saubheyah), fell in the ocean with their heads cut off.
Jīva Gosvāmī
Gauḍīya
Commentary
Not only did he show prowess. Others inspired by him the Yadu warriors, began decimating Śālva’s army. Almost all had their heads severed.

Personal Guidance
Gada, Sātyaki, Sāmba, and others cut down Śālva's soldiers, who fell from the airship into the ocean. A coordinated team takes down what no individual could; the unit, not the hero, wins.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I treating a group struggle as if it were a solo quest?
- Whom on my 'team' have I underused?
Analogy
While Pradyumna handles the captain, His allies — Gada, Sātyaki, Sāmba — sweep the deck: Śālva's soldiers fall from the airship into the sea, their necks cleanly severed. Around every devotee of stature stand other servants who clear the lesser obstacles, so that no single bhakta carries the whole battle alone.
