Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.71.22
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
-
mukundaḥ
—
giver of mukti
He travels under His liberating name. The geography is just a path on which Mukunda walks; the cities He passes are silently blessed by the passage.
-
śakra - prastham
—
Indraprastha
Indra's-plain — the Pāṇḍava capital reclaimed from the Khāṇḍava forest. The destination's name itself carries the story of Khāṇḍava-dāha that the chapter's last verse will recall.
-
sarasvatīm
—
the Sarasvatī river
Sarasvatī — śruti-river, devī of vāk. Kṛṣṇa's body crosses the river of speech as His name continues to be sung — outer crossing, inner consecration.
After passing through those places he passed through Dṛṣadvatī. Though in going from Dvārakā to Indraprastha Vinaśana, Pāñcāla and other provinces were not the destination, he visited those places to give happiness to the devotees there and give benefit to all living entities. Even going with minimal luggage, the pace was not fast because of the palanquins.

Though in going from Dvārakā to Indraprastha, Vinaśana, Pāñcāla and other provinces were not the destination, he visited those places to give happiness to the devotees there and give benefit to all living entities. Or the places are not mentioned in order. Pāñcala is situated before Marudeśa (desert). He bypassed Vinaśana.
- What journey in my life feels too long because I want it to be magical rather than stepwise?
- Which 'river' am I crossing today?
Mukunda crossing the Dṛṣadvatī and Sarasvatī, passing through Pañcāla and Matsya into Indraprastha, is like a river that has chosen its mouth — each region briefly carries Him until the chosen city receives Him as its sea.
