Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.50.11
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
-
govinde
—
Lord Kṛṣṇa
Locative absolute with dhyāyati — 'while Govinda was meditating.' Govinda = cow-finder, senses-pleaser. Even as Kṛṣṇa is meditating warfare, His name remains the gentle Vraja-name — He never sheds His sweetness, even on the battlefield.
-
sūrya-varcasau
—
having the effulgence of the sun
Dual: two chariots. In Gauḍīya iconography Kṛṣṇa's chariot is golden and Balarāma's silvery-white — both blaze like the sun because both are extensions of the same svarūpa-śakti.
-
upasthitau
—
appeared/stood ready
Upa + √sthā: 'stood near.' Spontaneously, without summoning. The Lord's paraphernalia is His own internal energy — it serves Him by being Him; the chariots are not separate objects but extensions of the līlā.
-
sadyaḥ
—
suddenly
Sadyas — at once, instantly. The Lord's paraphernalia arrives without any temporal lag — the cosmos has no friction when responding to Bhagavān. In Gauḍīya frame this is yoga-māyā's signature: the means and the end collapse into a single moment for the Lord.
Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī and Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī agree that the chariots came down from the Lord’s own abode, Vaikuṇṭha-loka, the kingdom of God. The faithful devotees of the Lord derive tremendous pleasure by observing the Lord’s incomparable technology.
As Govinda was thinking in this way, suddenly two chariots came from Vaikuntha by his desire, and stood near him (upa stithau-stood near).
As Kṛṣṇa, who protects the earth (govindaḥ), Bhagavān who appears directly as avatāra on earth to relieve it of its burden, thought in this way, from Mahā-vaikuṇṭha (ākāśāt) two chariots appeared.
- Where do you assume lack of equipment is a sign not to act?
- What might appear if you simply decided?
While Govinda is still considering, two sun-bright chariots fall ready-equipped out of the sky — the cosmos itself rushes to serve Him before He has finished the thought. The devotee does not work harder than the Lord arranges; the Lord arranges faster than the devotee can ask.
