Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.41.17
Blended reading (Sanskrit + English inline)
-
yadu-cakra-druham
—
the enemy of the circle of Yadus
Triple compound: yadu + cakra (circle, clan) + druh (one who injures). Kaṁsa, in one word. The Bhāgavatam consistently names him not by personal title but by his function as Yadu-druh — enemy of Kṛṣṇa's own house.
-
vitariṣye
—
I will grant
Future of vi + √tṝ — to extend, distribute. The same verb-field used for the gift of mokṣa. Here Kṛṣṇa promises to 'extend' satisfaction to His suhṛdas — the gift He is about to give is Kaṁsa's death.
-
suhṛt-priyam
—
satisfaction to My well-wishers
Compound: suhṛt (well-wisher) + priya (what is dear). Kṛṣṇa frames Kaṁsa's killing not as His vendetta but as a gift to others — Vasudeva, Devakī, Ugrasena, the entire Yadu line. Bhagavān's violence is always for someone else's relief.
-
ārya-samanvitaḥ
—
accompanied by My elder brother
Compound: ārya (noble, elder) + sam-anvita (accompanied). Balarāma is named ārya — the elder. Gauḍīyas note: Kṛṣṇa never undertakes a public act without Balarāma; the dvi-mūrti-tattva is constitutive.
Akrūra glorified Kṛṣṇa in text 16 as yadūttama, “the best of the Yadus.” Śrī Kṛṣṇa here confirms this by saying, in effect, “Since I am the best of the Yadus, I must kill the enemy of the Yadus, Kaṁsa, and then I will come to your house.”
"O Akrura, you have correctly called me the best of the Yadus. Therefore first I will kill Kamsa, the violator of the Yadu clan, and then I will come to your house."
I will come with Balarāma. Kṛṣṇa would not come with the other cowherds, since they would not stay that long in Mathurā. When will that be? I will come when I have killed the enemy of the Yadus. He does not directly mention Kaṁsa because of Kaṁsa’s inauspiciousness and fear of revealing the plan. I show affection for the Yadus by freeing Vasudeva and others. It is not proper to come to your house and receive a welcome when the Yadus are suffering and my parents are imprisoned.
- Where do you ask for the Lord's presence before His prior work in your life is finished?
- What 'Kaṁsa' must go before a more intimate visit can occur?
A surgeon promises the family he will visit the home after the operation — but first the tumor must come out. Kṛṣṇa gently postpones Akrūra's hospitality until Kaṁsa has been cut from the body of the Yadu clan.
