Since he departed, seven months have passed, yet he has not returned. I do not know factually how things are going there.
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O Bhīmasena! Seven months have passed. You younger brother has not yet returned. I do not know the reason at all.
Seven months have passed; I do not know factually how things are going there. Honest acknowledgement of ignorance precedes wise action. We can name what we don't know.
Reflection Questions
  • What 'I do not know factually' could I say more honestly?
  • Where am I pretending to know what I don't?
