O Brāhmaṇa Śaunaka, while Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, observing the inauspicious signs on the earth at that time, was thus thinking to himself, Arjuna came back from the city of the Yadus [Dvārakā].
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura Gauḍīya
Translation
O brāhmaṇa! While the king was contemplating the matter with consideration of the ill omens, Arjuna arrived in Hastināpura.
While Yudhiṣṭhira was thinking, Arjuna came back from Dvārakā. The expected return arrives, often when we are mid-thought about it. Time keeps moving.
Reflection Questions
  • What 'return' might be approaching while I am preoccupied?
  • Where could I be ready rather than caught mid-thought?
