The Deities seem to be crying in the temple, lamenting and perspiring. They seem about to leave. All the cities, villages, towns, gardens, mines and hermitages are now devoid of beauty and bereft of all happiness. I do not know what sort of calamities are now awaiting us.
Gauḍīya Ācāryas
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura
Gauḍīya
Translation
The deities seem to be weeping, perspiring and moving about. The populated areas, villages, towns, gardens and hermitages are devoid of splendor and bliss. Why are they showing us such suffering?
Commentary
Daivatāni means deities.
Personal Guidance
Deities in the temple seem to cry, lament, perspire. They seem about to leave. Cities, villages, hermitages bereft of beauty and happiness. What calamity is coming? The Lord's withdrawal is felt.
Reflection Questions
- Where in my world do I sense holiness about to withdraw?
- What could I do to invite it to stay?
