Inaugurated by ISKCON founder A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada on Ram Navami, 20 April 1975, with the installation of Krishna-Balaram, Radha-Shyamasundar, and Gaura-Nitai deities, Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir is one of the principal ISKCON temples worldwide; construction of the temple building was fully completed in 1977. Three altars house the complex’s deities: Krishna and Balarama at the central altar, Radha-Shyamasundar together with the gopis Lalita and Vishakha to the right, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with Nityananda — alongside representations of Prabhupada and his own guru — to the left. Prabhupada’s own samadhi (memorial shrine), built of white marble, stands near the entrance of the temple complex — he passed away at this site on 14 November 1977. The temple maintains a tradition of continuous (24-hour) kirtan and includes an on-site museum of Krishna-related imagery.

  • historical record: Cross-checked against Wikipedia's Krishna Balaram Mandir article during authoring: confirms the 20 April 1975 inauguration date, deities installed, and Prabhupada's samadhi location.
  • historical record: Re-verified via a fresh fetch of the same Wikipedia article on 2026-09-23: confirms exact coordinates (27.5724194544, 77.6777527878, matching this entry's existing value), full completion of the temple building in 1977, and the arrangement of deities across three altars — Krishna-Balarama centrally, Radha-Shyamasundar (with gopis Lalita and Vishakha) on the right, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with Nityananda (plus representations of Prabhupada and his own guru) on the left. Also confirms an on-site museum displaying Krishna-related images. Exact darshan hours are not given in the article and remain unconfirmed.
