Completed on 24 March 2008 after more than five years of planning by Auckland’s Papatoetoe Gujarati community, this mandir is the second temple of the Swaminarayan Sampraday established in New Zealand (after an earlier one elsewhere in Auckland). It operates under the International Swaminarayan Satsang Organisation (ISSO), affiliated with the Nar Narayan Dev Gadi lineage, and enshrines murtis of Nar Narayan Dev, Radha Krishna Dev, Ghanshyam Maharaj, and the Ram Parivar, installed in a Murti Pran Pratistha Mahotsav ceremony led by Acharya Shree Koshalendraprasadji Maharaj.

The building’s carved wood pillars, moldings, and shikhars were the work of artisans brought from Hong Kong, India, and Europe, representing thousands of hours of hand-carving. Community leaders Dr. Kantilal Patel and Ranjna Patel were later honored with the Queen’s Service Medal in recognition of their contribution to bringing the project to completion, underscoring the temple’s significance to Auckland’s Gujarati Hindu community.
