Location
Open in Google MapsEstablished on 19 October 1984, the Hindu Temple of Atlanta in Riverdale, Georgia — not to be confused with the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in nearby Lilburn — is one of the older South Indian-tradition temples serving Metro Atlanta’s Hindu community. Its original complex, centered on Venkateswara (a form of Vishnu) with consort Padmavathi, follows temple-architecture conventions traced to the Pandya Empire of South India. A second shrine dedicated to Shiva, worshipped locally as Ramalingeshwara, was consecrated in 2007, and the grounds also house shrines to Hanuman, Ganesha, Kala Bhairava, and the Navagraha (nine celestial bodies).
Situated close to I-75 and roughly nine miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the temple draws not only the local Metro Atlanta community but also a meaningful share of visitors from across the southern, eastern-seaboard, and midwestern United States, and has been counted among the more prominent Hindu temples in the country.

- historical record: Cross-checked via Wikipedia's 'Hindu Temple of Atlanta' article: the temple, presided over by Venkateswara with Padmavathi and other deities, was established on 19 October 1984; a second shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva (worshipped locally as Ramalingeshwara) was consecrated in 2007; the complex's architecture is described as closely following Pandya-era South Indian temple design; additional shrines include Hanuman, Ganesha, Kala Bhairava, and the Navagraha. This is a distinct institution from the Lilburn, GA BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Atlanta already covered elsewhere in this directory.
