Though the devatās headed by Śiva began praising Kṛṣṇa announcing His supreme position as the Lord, Arjuna, Kṛṣṇa’s friend in Vraja, [Note: This Arjuna in Vraja is mentioned as a priya-narma-sakha in BRS 3.3.43. It is also possible that it is referring to Pāṇḍava Arjuna.] just put his arm with hairs standing on end upon Kṛṣṇa’s shoulder and wiped the dust from His peacock feather.
Purport
There is one brilliant example of this affection. When the demigods, headed by Lord Śiva, were offering respectful prayers to Kṛṣṇa, describing the glorious opulences of the Lord, Arjuna stood before Him with his hand on His shoulders and brushed the dust from His peacock feather. [Note: This Arjuna, living in Vṛndāvana, is different from the friend of the same name to whom Bhagavad-gītā was spoken.]
