If there is any deformity in the vibhāva or other elements, the power of rati is curtailed. Deformity means that there are unsuitable qualities in vibhāva and other elements.

Commentary
The deformity in the vibhāva here refers to deformity in Kṛṣṇa or the devotee and inappropriate conditions of Kṛṣṇa. If there are irregularities in the persons playing the roles of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in a drama, or if Rādhā is depicted as older than Kṛṣṇa, rati becomes restricted, not nourished by those vibhāvas. Similarly, when poetic works have such discrepancies, rati becomes restricted.

Commentary
Vibhāva here indicates Kṛṣṇa and the particular devotee of Kṛṣṇa. Vairūpyam means that these elements display unsuitable qualities.
