Q78. Does God give us free will?

Yes. The real God (Lord Krishna) is not a dictator nor a bully. He doesn’t force anyone to follow Him, nor does He curse those who don’t follow Him. This is because Lord Krishna is responsible, mature, and doesn’t act in a childish manner. After speaking the Bhagavad-Gita to Arjuna, Lord Krishna allows Arjuna to practice his free will. Arjuna is free to do as he wishes. “I have explained to you the most confidential knowledge. Now, think about it and then do as you wish.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.63)
