Q189. Should women be taken captive?
Adult This item contains stronger language or sectarian framing that may not suit younger readers.
Never. In the Mahabharat war, Lord Krishna was personally present. Millions of soldiers were killed in the war and thus there were millions of widows and daughters without a father. Not a single female was taken captive by any side. This is the teaching of Lord Krishna. Even human beings have created laws to ban women from being taken captive, in war or outside of war, because it is most barbaric to take women captive. The Bhagavad-Gita is the only scripture which is against slavery, and against taking females captive. (Reference: Mahabharat)
