Q13. Who are you?

You are the soul which is eternal and not the temporary bag of dirt and chemicals (the body). Each soul is a unique individual with a history and eternal existence. The soul and body are two different entities. The soul is spiritual and within the heart of the material body. You (the soul) are the energy and the body is the form. Energy cannot be destroyed but it can be transferred. When the current form (the body) is destroyed, the energy (soul) will be transferred to another form (another body). “There was never a time when you, all these kings, and I did not exist. Nor shall any of us cease to exist in the future. The embodied soul in this body goes through boyhood, youth, and old age. At death, the soul transfers to another body. This never bewilders a wise person.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.12-13)
